Dansko
Shoes have always been one of those important things that people pay a lot of attention to. The phenomenon of shoes is shared world wide, and although we tend to wear footwear for comfort, it is perhaps just one of the many reasons we wear them. For many people their shoes are very personal, very important, and carry a lot of weight. People will purchase shoes and tailor their entire wardrobe around them before they will change the shoes out. When we like a shoe we treat it as if it really had a soul, and of course it does have a sole, one that is apparent in the way people treat shoes with even more respect than any other part of their wardrobe!
When Dansko clogs came onto the scene people went nuts. It seemed that this show stopper was not only an incredible way to grow a few inches taller, but it really made a statement that people took notice of. Anyone seeing a pair of their clogs or any other Dansko shoes will ask you where you got them so they can go find themselves a pair. Unlike most shoes that people grab based on the brand name, people choose Danskos for a deeper reason (they do love the brand because of what it stands for however) - quality and extreme style.
With Dansko shoes it seems people enjoy the basic nature of the very materials, the uncomplicated look and feel of their many varieties. In many ways people pick Dansko’s like they pick Nike, not that Nike has a chance to derive this kind of respect, but what I’m talking about is how people will buy them knowing they are Nike but not just to get that swoop check mark symbol. People buy Dansko because you don’t have to see the brand name on the shoe to know that it is Dansko clogs or sandals etc… because you won’t find this kind of workmanship anywhere else.
I’ve seen many try to copy the Dansko template but you can tell it’s not the same. Those brands have to actually imprint their brand affluently where by Dansko could just put it on the bottom of the shoe or inside and people would know it when they saw it (the shoe).
Dansko also seems to be very aware of the latest trends and although they generate their own unique trends they are aware of what people want to wear. They do some great market testing to make sure they are releasing an amazing product. Besides all of this however, I just have to say, these Dansko clogs make me look amazing!
